Mark/Space is pleased to announce the latest addition to the company's highly rated Missing Sync family of synchronization products for Mac OS X: The Missing Sync™ for iPhone™. Expected to ship in the fourth quarter 2007, The Missing Sync for iPhone will provide data migration of contacts, tasks, events and photos from Palm OS, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry smartphones, as well as the ability to archive, browse and search iPhone Call Log, SMS text messages and Notes.
"Apple has made a powerful entry into the market with the iPhone," said Brian Hall, Mark/Space president and CEO. "Prospective iPhone customers want to know that they can take their existing smartphone data with them, and Missing Sync for iPhone is designed to meet that need. Existing and prospective iPhone customers alike will benefit from enhanced access to their Call Log, SMS text messages and Notes."
A new feature for Missing Sync, the migration assistant, includes the software and step-by-step on-screen guide needed to bring existing contacts, tasks, events and photos from supported Palm OS, Windows Mobile or BlackBerry smartphones to the Mac and iPhone. Once migration is complete, instructions are included to safely clear data from the previous device, making it ready to responsibly pass on.
After migration, or for those that already are set up with their iPhone, Missing Sync for iPhone includes Mac applications to archive, browse and search iPhone SMS text messages, Call Log and Notes.
For many, SMS text messaging makes the world go round, with millions of text messages being sent worldwide every day. Missing Sync keeps a record of incoming and outgoing text messages exchanged with the iPhone. Once on the Mac, they can be searched and sorted in an iChat-like threaded view.
With the included Call Log application, customers can easily lookup recent calls and keep track of all iPhone calls for time tracking or billing purposes. The Missing Sync for iPhone transfers a record of all incoming, outgoing and missed calls to the Mac where they can be searched, sorted and exported to other applications such as Excel or FileMaker; useful in preparing invoices or expense reports.
With Missing Sync, iPhone notes seamlessly transfer to the Mac. Choose to view them in Bare Bone's Yojimbo, Microsoft Entourage, or the included Mark/Space Notebook.
The Missing Sync for iPhone is expected to ship in the fourth quarter of 2007. A single installer will include English, French and German language versions. Electronic downloads will be priced at $39.95 from the Mark/Space Online Store, and CDs will be available several weeks later for $49.95. "Crossgrade" discounts will be available for owners of Mark/Space's Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Palm OS editions of The Missing Sync. The Missing Sync for iPhone will require Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.10 or later and an iPhone.

Compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5)
Mac OS X version 10.5 Leopard is the name of the next major version of Mac OS X. Apple shipped Leopard on October 26, 2007. Mark/Space had been testing on pre-release versions of Leopard and reported in the September newsletter that updates to The Missing Sync would be required for Leopard compatibility.
We are now testing with the final Leopard release (Apple gave the final release to developers on 10/26/07). We are well underway in making the required changes to support Leopard and expect to post free updates to the most current versions of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile, The Missing Sync for Blackberry, and The Missing Sync for PSP as soon as possible and for sure within 90 days of Leopard's commercial release.
We recommend that The Missing Sync not be used with Leopard, pending the official release of these planned updates, or information from our Support team. Please refer to http://www.markspace.com/leopard.html for up to date information about Leopard related issues and the status of Leopard compatible updates for The Missing Sync.
SyncTogether 1.0 is not compatible with Leopard and we do NOT recommend using SyncTogether 1.0 with Leopard at this time. We are still investigating options and will report any changes to our plans on the link below and/or in the SyncTogether forum.
The Missing Sync for BlackBerry, version 1.0.2 Now Available
A version 1.0.2 update is now available for The Missing Sync for BlackBerry. Version 1.0.2 improves synchronization with large data sets (e.g. more than 9,000 records), adds support for the latest BlackBerry models and improves connection problems reported by a few users. Version 1.0.2 is not the final Leopard ready update. While there will be a 1.0.3 Leopard compatible update, 1.0.2 is known to work with Leopard with some known issues. Current information about known issues with Leopard compatibility can be found at http://www.markspace.com/leopard.html.
Version 1.0.2 is a free update for all owners of The Missing Sync for BlackBerry version 1.0. To get the update, either select the Check for Update command from the Missing Sync menu in the application, or download the update from the Mark/Space website at www.markspace.com/downloads.html (where you will also find complete release notes).
The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile, version 4.0.1 Now Available
A version 4.0.1 update is now available for The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. The update includes support for password protected Windows Mobile 6 devices, faster sync performance, and improved notes synchronization.
Version 4.0.1 is free update for all owners of The Missing Sync for Palm OS v4.0. To get the update, either select the Check for Update command from the Missing Sync menu in the application, or download the update from the Mark/Space website at www.markspace.com/downloads.html (where you will also find complete release notes). Note that version 4.0.1 is NOT recommended for use with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), but a 4.0.2 version is under development. More information about Leopard compatibility is available at

How would you like to help us design future products? We often wonder how many people use a particular feature and how they might change this feature or that feature to make it ever better. Well, we would like to sit down and talk with a few of you to hear your ideas and better understand how you use our products. To accomplish this we would like to invite you to chat with our product teams either on the phone, or for those who live in the Silicon Valley, gathered at a local coffee house. To participate send an email to LetsTalk@markspace.com and include your name, phone number, city where you live, and a brief description of the topics you would like to talk to us about. We won't likely be able to talk with each one of you, but we will take all your comments seriously and we'll invite select individuals to talk on the phone or join in a local focus group.
