| 1. NOW SHIPPING: Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 2.5.1 http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_windowsmobile.php Just a few weeks ago, Mark/Space shipped the very first software application to connect handhelds and smartphones running Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 with Macs. This was a major milestone for us, since nearly everything about connecting and syncing with these devices changed. In addition to adding support for devices running Windows Mobile 5, The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile now runs natively on both Intel and PowerPC Macs, providing the best possible performance on either processor. It also provides more seamless synchronization with Address Book and iCal data and introduces the Shop tab, with a direct connection to the Mark/Space Online Store, where users can shop for Windows Mobile games and productivity applications for their handheld or smartphone. The v2.5.1 update specifically improves USB performance with certain Windows Mobile 5 devices, including the Motorola Q. It also addresses a connection issue affecting some Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone devices, improves fast syncing of recurring events and the handling of multiple email addresses in Entourage and includes other minor improvements. Version 2.5.1 requires Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" and is a free update for all owners of v2.0 or v2.5. Owners of The Missing Sync for Pocket PC or any Missing Sync product that supported a Palm OS device can upgrade for $19.95. | 2. REVIEW: 4.5 Mice for Missing Sync for Sony PSP http://www.macworld.com/2006/07/reviews/missingsyncpsp/index.php In a recent review on their website, Macworld magazine awarded The Missing Sync for Sony PSP with 4.5 mice! Reviewer Peter Cohen had lots of nice things to say: "...The Missing Sync excels in ease of use, simplicity of design, and robustness of features." "Where The Missing Sync simply blows away other Mac PSP sync software is its integration with Apple's built-in applications like Address Book and iCal." "Mark/Space has hit a home run with The Missing Sync for PSP 1.0.2. It can turn your already versatile PlayStation Portable into a full-blown multimedia center and personal information assistant." You may read the entire article on Macworld.com: http://www.macworld.com/2006/07/reviews/missingsyncpsp/index.php The Missing Sync for Sony PSP sells for $29.95 (download). | 4.THINKING TREO? Get the Right Missing Sync for Your Treo Treo 700w: http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_windowsmobile.php Treo 700p: http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_palmos.php Palm, Inc. currently has two flagship Treo models that are getting lots of press. Even though they share a similar model name, they are, in fact, very different. The Treo 700p, which started shipping from Verizon in June, runs the Palm OS and is supported by The Missing Sync for Palm OS, just like the Treo 650 and Tungsten TX. The Treo 700w, which was released earlier this year, is Palm's first device to run Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system--specifically Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC Phone Edition. So while the Treo 700w has that familiar Palm name printed right on it, its operating system is completely different from other Palm devices. Likewise, so is the synchronization software needed to connect and sync the 700w with the Mac. If you already have or are thinking about purchasing a Treo 700w, you will need The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile to synchronize with Address Book & iCal or Microsoft Entourage. The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile requires Mac OS X "Tiger". The Treo 700w and 700p represent the very best in smartphones available today. They are powerful, flexible and have blazingly fast wireless network access. We think they're great devices, and you'll find a good number of them in use by our employees. If you pick one up, don't forget to get the correct edition of The Missing Sync for your Treo.
Treo 700w: http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_windowsmobile.php If you already own The Missing Sync for Palm OS, you can "crossgrade" to The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile (or vice versa) for the upgrade price, just as if you owned a previous version of the software. To get your special crossgrade price, visit: http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_upgrade_matrix.html. |
| 5. GOING PLACES: Mark/Space Engineers at WWDC http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/ Mark/Space is focused on being the very best Mac synchronization software company. Being the best means shipping applications that support Apple's latest technologies. That's why Mark/Space engineers attended Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco last week. They made sure that we got the drop on new features and technologies coming next year in Mac OS X Leopard. We're excited to see that Apple is improving iCal and adding much-needed features, such as group scheduling and support for the CalDAV standard. The addition of Notes to Apple Mail is also quite interesting, and it presents some good possibilities for syncing with device-side memos. Mark/Space shipped the first commercial software product to take advantage of Sync Services technology in Tiger, and we plan to continue adding support in our products for future Apple technologies. To learn more about what you can expect from Mac OS X Leopard, take a look at the preview Apple has put up on their website: http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/. |
| 6. SUPPORT: More Support Site Improvements http://www.markspace.com/support/ In July's newsletter, we mentioned that we had been working to improve our free support offerings for our customers. Well, that work continues. This time around, we have completely revamped the support landing page to get you answers even more quickly. A new Support Knowledgebase search field lets you get started searching through our amassed technical knowledge even quicker than before, and we have also made it more clear where to find certain answers, such as how to re-download a product you own or how to have your registration code emailed again. If you are experiencing a problem with one of our products, give the Support Knowledgebase search a try. There's a lot of information in there, even some pretty esoteric stuff. For example, a couple of weeks ago our director of marketing was in need of some information about a strange error. He was certain that the information he needed wouldn't be in the Support Knowledgebase. He's pretty technical, and it wasn't something he'd heard about or encountered before. He needed the information urgently, so he emailed his question to our technical support manager and one of our lead engineers. About 10 minutes later, he received a reply from the lead engineer. The engineer's email simply contained a link to the Support Knowledgebase article that contained exactly the information that the director of marketing needed. The moral of the story? Had our director of marketing tried a search in the Support Knowledgebase to begin with, he'd have had his answer in one tenth the time, and he wouldn't have been embarrassed for not looking there in the first place! So, when you need help with a problem, give the Support Knowledgebase a try. We hope that you like the improvements we've made. They're for you! |
