1. NEWS: Windows Mobile 5 Device Support Status
http://www.markspace.com/wm5.html
http://www.markspace.com/testing/

Our engineering team has been working long hours to finish development work on our upcoming release of version 2.5 of The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. Version 2.5 adds support for devices running Windows Mobile 5 and runs natively on Apple's latest Intel- powered Macs.

When it ships, version 2.5 will be a free upgrade for all registered owners of v2.0, while owners of other Missing Sync products will be able to upgrade or crossgrade for $19.95. New purchases will cost $39.95.

If you already own v2.0, you're eligible to try out the alpha pre- release of v2.5. The alpha build of v2.5 isn't yet feature-complete, but if you have access to a device running Windows Mobile 5, you might want to give it a try. Be sure to read the Known Issues page on our website before deciding to try the alpha, and if you do decide to give it a spin, definitely back up your data first.

2. NEW PALM TREO: We Support the New Palm Treo 700p
http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/treo700p/index.html

Palm's new Treo 700p ('p' for Palm OS) is now shipping. Like its Windows Mobile-powered counterpart, the 700w, the 700p offers lightening fast EvDO wireless broadband support, with DSL-like Internet speed on Sprint's and Verizon's networks in the United States.

The Missing Sync for Palm OS is a great partner to the Treo 700p. Our current version, 5.1, already supports the Treo 700p, including synchronization of contact photos, calendar categories, iPhoto albums, iTunes playlists and more. The 700p introduces a new Anniversary field in the Contacts application, for which we will be add support in a future release.

The new Palm Treo 700p starts as low as $399 when purchased with a wireless plan, and Palm is offering a $150 trade-in credit when you upgrade from a Treo 650 to a Treo 700p. Complete details are available from Palm's website: http://www.palm.com/us/products/smartphones/treo700p/index.html.

4. TIPS & TRICKS: Sync Palm OS Device Movies to iPhoto

A cool feature in Apple's iPhoto 6 is its support for a wide range of MPG/MPEG movies taken with digital cameras. The Missing Sync for Palm OS, v5.1, helps you get the most out of your camera-equipped Palm OS device by importing the photos and movies you take right into an iPhoto album of your choice.

To import handheld movies into iPhoto, double-click the Mark/Space Photos conduit, check the box next to "Download pictures from handheld", and pick an iPhoto album into which your movies (and photos) will be placed. Alternatively, you can choose to download movies and photos to a folder on your Mac, but you'll be missing out on all of iPhoto's awesome organizational capabilities.

If your Palm OS device has a camera, check out photo and video syncing today!
