In addition to this yearly gathering of the Mac faithful, that Saturday marks the release in Japan of one of the most hotly anticipated new handhelds in recent memory, the CLIÉ PEG-NR70. This new CLIÉ for the Japanese market boasts a built-in keyboard, MP3 player, enhanced audio, and virtual graffiti area contained in an exciting clamshell design. Later on in the same month, a version with integrated camera, PEG-NR70V will become available on the Japanese market. Also to be released on March 23 is a Bluetooth Memory Stick.

Last month at PalmSource Expo in San Jose, Handheld Computing held their Best Products of the Year Awards ceremony.

Categories were wide-ranging, from "Best new Palm OS Device" to "Most Unusual Application".

The nominees represent the Best of the Best, the Palm Powered products that stand out from the crowd. The choices were based on spirited debates amongst the Handheld Computing Magazine editorial team, as well as input from their readers.
