-->Appointments and Reminders
Send yourself full-text reminder pages to keep you on time during your busy day.

-->Wireless E-Mail
Receive e-mail from Internet, online services, or your office network on your pager.

-->Network Alerts

A partial list of the many enhancements for version 2.0:

New and Improved Ways to Send Messages (All Versions)

NEW SNPP via TCP
NEW HTTP via TCP using XML plug-ins
Send to any service that provides a web page to send messages
NEW SMTP (e-mail) via TCP
Send to any email address, or pager/phone with an email address (ie, 5551212@messagingcompany.com)
NEW Speech!
Text to Speech via speaker
IMPROVED UCP via modem
IMPROVED EMI via modem
IMPROVED Citiruf via modem

Exciting New Features (All Versions)

NEW Updated Manuals, now in PDF format for printing or reading on-screen
NEW Updated and additional pre-defined service entries
NEW Totally new and updated modem configuration dialog ("Easy Config" as well as "Expert Config")
NEW "PageNOW! Modem Definitions" file (no longer relies on buggy Apple Modem Tool list)
NEW Custom Connection settings on a per service basis.
Services may have a custom modem setting that overrides the default one (so some services can be 7E1, while others are 8N1 for example)
NEW Can now "suspend paging" via checkbox/icon in message monitor
NEW Status report during message send in Message Monitor
NEW Now have a "service" column in the subscribers window
NEW Cancel Button in Message Monitor window
IMPROVED Additional status and icons in Message Monitor
IMPROVED Numeric paging now allows "#" and "*" to be sent
IMPROVED Toll free and local area codes now support more than one code (ie, now supports "800,877,888")
IMPROVED Display the type (numeric/email/speech/etc) in subscribers window
IMPROVED Now update preferences file at idle time as well as at quit
UPDATED All new artwork and icons
FIXED "Postpone Indefinitely" did not work in "Send At" dialog
FIXED Increased some timeouts so that Vodaphone UK would work via TAP

New Features for Administrators (and Client/Server Version)

NEW (Optional) Automatic purging for message monitor window/database
NEW "Admin Pager" (optionally) gets a message when a page fails
NEW ".Admin Alert" memorized message serves as a template
NEW Designated "Backup Subscriber" for each account.
The "Backup" gets a message in case the message can't be sent to the first account. For example, if a message fails via a TCP protocol, you could designate a modem based protocol using subscriber as the "Backup"
NEW Support for Sophisticated Circuits PowerKey/Rebound
NEW Export of Message Monitor contents
NEW Ability to import/export numeric, speech and e-mail subscribers

5. NEWS: DataCord DCH-6M9, 6 inch version of DCH-M9

To address the needs of people connecting their Visor to mobile devices such as mobile phones and GPS units, we now have a 6 inch long version of the popular DCH-M9 Handspring Visor to DB9 modem cable.

This cable is currently available for ordering via our online store, and is in production and projected to start shipping April 16th, 2001.

6. NEWS: DataCord DCH-M9D, device powered version of DCH-M9

We now have a new "device powered" version of the DCH-M9 cable. This cable draws power for the on-board electronics (needed to convert visor serial to RS232) from the device it connects to, rather than (on our DCH-M9) the Visor itself. In addition to prolonging battery life on the Visor side, this cable also has the benefit of working with the new Visor Platinum, just as our DCH-H9 hotsync cable does.

This cable is currently available for ordering via our online store, and is in production and projected to start shipping April 16th, 2001.
