Sync Wirelessly With The Missing Sync for Android Version 1.3
Mark/Space continues to add significant features to The Missing Sync for Android with the version 1.3 update of the software.
The Missing Sync for Android synchronizes contacts, music, photos and much more between a PC or Mac and an Android phone, such as the Google Nexus One, Motorola Droid and HTC Hero. The Missing Sync for Android is the most feature-rich, all-in-one sync software for Android phones.
Sync wirelessly.
Version 1.3, available today, adds the ability to synchronize a PC or Mac with an Android phone without the use of a cable. Sync happens wirelessly, via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. An Android phone no longer has to be tethered to a computer to transfer and sync information and media files. Although if preferred, it is also possible to sync media files using a USB cable.
Sync notes.
Another welcome feature in version 1.3 is notes syncing. Mark/Space has made Fliq Notes (their robust note taking app also available for iPhone and Palm Pre) available for Android phones, as well.
Fliq Notes offers better composing and organizing features than the notes app included on Android phones. And, Fliq Notes works with The Missing Sync to keep notes updated and in-sync with Microsoft Outlook, Entourage and Mark/Space Notebook (a Mac note taking application included with the Mac version of The Missing Sync for Android).
Create ringtones.
The 1.3 update for the PC version adds a ringtone editor (already available in the Mac version). The built-in ringtone editor makes it easy to create ringtones from favorite songs. Then, The Missing Sync installs the ringtones on an Android phone.
Archive text messages.
Also added in version 1.3 is the ability to archive text messages from an Android phone to a computer, where they can be searched, sorted and viewed.
Mark/Space also improved sync performance and data security in version 1.3.
The version 1.3 update is available free to current owners of The Missing Sync for Android by using the Check for Update feature in the software.

Play Podcasts on Palm Pre (Say that three times fast.)
Having the newest podcasts you subscribe to on your Palm Pre or Pixi is easy with The Missing Sync and Windows Media Player or iTunes. First, you'll create a Smart Playlist or Auto Playlist. (We'll tell you how.) Then, you'll use The Missing Sync for Palm Pre to sync your podcast playlist. Once this is all set-up, every time you sync your phone, the newest podcasts will be transferred to your phone so that you can listen to them wherever you go.
Creating a podcast Smart Playlist in iTunes.
To build an all-podcast playlist, Choose "New Smart Playlist" from the file menu. From the first drop-down box, select "Podcast" and leave the second drop-down set to "is true". To include only podcast episodes you haven't yet listened to, click the "+" symbol to add a new rule and choose "Play Count", "is", 0. Add additional filters to further refine your smart playlist.
Creating a podcast Auto Playlist in Windows Media Player.
To create a podcast Auto Playlist, right-click on the Playlist button on the left side of the library and select "Create Auto Playlist". Enter "Podcasts" into the 'Auto Playlist name' field. Choose "Click here" to add criteria below 'Create an auto playlist that includes the following'. Select "More", "File Name", "OK". Back in the New Auto Playlist window, click to set 'File name Contains'. Enter the name of the directory where the podcasts are stored. A simple way to do this is to select the folder in Windows Explorer, copy the path in the Address bar, and paste it into this field. Finally, Click OK.
In The Missing Sync for Palm Pre, go into Music settings and select the podcast Auto Playlist or Smart Playlist. Now, every time you sync you'll automatically have the newest podcasts on your phone.
