Sync iTunes Genius Playlists to Your Android Phone
A popular feature of iTunes is Genius Playlists. Choose a song and iTunes creates a playlist of songs from your music library that go great together. It's the fastest way to create music playlists.
First, in iTunes, make sure you Turn On Genius (in the Store menu).
- Then, select a song from your iTunes Music Library.
- Finally, click the Genius icon in the lower-right of the iTunes Window. Voila! Instantly, a playlist is created based on the song you selected.
- Click the Save Playlist button and you'll see a new playlist labeled with the name of the song it's based-on in the list of playlists in the left column.
Sync your playlist to your phone using The Missing Sync for Android, just as you would sync any playlist. Open The Missing Sync. Double-click the Music plugin to open Music Settings. You'll see all your playlists, with Genius playlists listed toward the top.
Actually, you can sync Genius playlists to other phones too - BlackBerry, Palm Pre and others - using the version of The Missing Sync for that phone.

Save BlackBerry Text Messages and Call History to Your Mac
If you use your BlackBerry for work or your business, you rely on the information your phone provides you.
Two kinds of information often overlooked are text messages and call history (the record of received, missed, and placed calls). This isn't surprising as most folks assume that, unlike email, text messages and call history are "stuck" on the BlackBerry where you can't do anything else with them.
The Missing Sync for BlackBerry saves text messages and a BlackBerry's call history to a Mac where you can search, sort and view them.
Keep a record of time spent on the phone with clients - long after it falls off the call history on your phone. Grab information from text messages - quotes, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Easily add the info to Address Book. Include quotes in Statements of Work.
With your BackBerry's text messages and call history on your Mac, you're free to work with them any way you please.

Remove Dups for a Healthier (and more useable) Contacts Database
Over time, contacts in applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Mac OS X Address Book can become cluttered with multiple entries and duplicates for the same person.
Some of the common contributors to multiple entries:
- Email programs that create a new contact entry for an email address rather than adding the address to an existing one
- Phones that create a new entry for a phone number rather than letting you edit an existing contact
- Syncing your computer and phone with multiple sources: Google, Yahoo, Exchange, etc.
- Accidentally importing or creating a new contact with a person's new information rather than updating the old contact info
Having more than one entry for a person can confuse your email program, phone and other applications that rely on unique names to access a phone number or email address for someone. Multiple entries can also make it difficult for The Missing Sync to keep your phone and computer contacts in sync.
The Missing Sync works best when you make your phone or your computer the single source of contact information. Consolidating contact information to as few sources as possible (preferably one source) is the best thing you can do to protect against duplicates being created.
Go through your contacts and do some cleaning and consolidating, too. Remove entries you no longer want. Merge contact entries that have email, phone number and address information spread across multiple entries.
A tidy contacts database will make it easier and more efficient for you, your phone and your email programs to retrieve the correct phone numbers and email addresses when you need them.
