Mark/Space at Macworld San Francisco, 1997!

We were there, and so were many of you who visited our booth in the North Hall of Moscone Center! We all experienced the Mac Mania of the event, especially as it was taken to an extreme high by Power Computing in a *very* nearby booth. Many modem, cellular and wireless companies were on the scene too, reminding us all that there are still many ways to reach out and telecommunicate! PageNOW! Personal Edition, PageME! Construction Kit, and PageNOW! Web Gateway were the top favorites, followed closely by PageNOW! Workgroup/Enterprise Editions, Newton, and, Gasp, a few bundles including PageNOW! for Windows! The most popular requests were for features in PageNOW! 1.6, such as numeric paging, personal web paging, and PCS/GSM support (coming February), PageME! Construction Kit to create Windows applets (later this year), increased support for 2-way paging and support for modemless (TCP or otherwise) paging (coming later this year). It is always good to hear feedback in person, but the next best thing is e-mail - tell us how you use PageNOW! and what we could do to improve the product. Just send email to . Watch the Mark/Space web site, and your Mark/Space News for our participation in such future shows as MacFair LA (May 97) and MacWorld Boston (August 97). We are currently considering which PC/Windows shows to attend and/or exhibit at this year. Please send your suggestions or comments to

OEM/Bundle versions of PageNOW!

We met many representatives of paging companies at Macworld, and would like to remind everyone that bundle, OEM, and private-label versions of PageNOW! and PageME! Construction Kit are available. We now offer Mac OS, Windows, Web, and Newton versions, as well as e-mail to pager gateways. With French and German language versions in development, Mark/Space is well equipped to meet your needs; whether they be local, national, or international. To discuss the possibilities, please contact our OEM/Licensing department at 408-293-7299, or email

Spring Cleaning Tech Tips for PageNOW! and PageME!

PageNOW! Mac and Windows Users: Periodically clear out your "Message Monitor" window to speed up startup time and avoid overloading your system. For example: if you are sending 20 pages per day, you should "select all" of the messages and click "Remove" roughly once each week. If you need a report for your records, remember that you can print and/or export your "Activity Log" to your database for safekeeping. Are you sending pages to a PCS communications service such as VoiceStream? If so, try changing your PageNOW! setting to 8E1 XON/XOFF instead of the usual 7E1 XON/XOFF in your PageNOW! connection settings. PageNOW! Newton Users: Check your InBox and OutBox to ensure that you've properly filed or routed incoming and outgoing pager messages. PageME! Users: Have you changed pager services or phone numbers? Are you starting a new project, planning a trip? If you answered "Yes!" then you'll want to be sure to create and hand out copies of the PageME! applet to those who will need to keep in touch with you. Do you have a technical tip on better use of a Mark/Space Softworks product? If so, please e-mail your tip to and include your contact information. We'll publish all new, validated tips each month, with the names of the contributors prominently displayed.
Thank you, from the team at Mark/Space!
