Migration Assistant

How big is your address book? How fast do you type? Thankfully, your answers don’t matter. You won’t need to retype a thing with the Migration Assistant. Speed load your iPhone and reduce data entry errors.

How does it work?

Data from your old smartphone is transferred to your Mac using the Migration Assistant as your guide. Then you simply synchronize your iPhone using iTunes to complete the migration. On-screen, step-by-step instructions will guide you through the process.

The Migration Assistant finishes it all off by asking if you want to know how to clear your old device of sensitive data, in case you plan to pass it on.

What transfers?

  • Contacts — all your phone numbers, email addresses, home and work addresses.
  • Calendar — all upcoming appointments, including repeating meeting and all day events.
  • Photos that you've taken with your device.*
  • And more, depending on your smartphone model.*

Which smartphones are supported?

The Migration Assistant can transfer information from a wide variety of popular devices.

  • BlackBerry
  • Palm OS
  • Windows Mobile

*Smartphone features vary from model to model, so synchronization features and capabilities vary by model.
